Stop for Music

How often do you take time-out for yourself or even to listen to your favorite music?  I know I don't do it as often as I should.  The type of music I am talking about is music that is light and easy to listen to.  I usually pick instrumental only songs, this way I avoid overbearing emotions and the need to sing along that lyrics can produce.  Light classical music works great for this, however, you know what best works for you.

Turn off the TV and do not multitask, just sit with your thoughts (or the lack of them) for a little while. Doing this even if it's for five minutes, will make a huge impact on your decision making and well being.  Don't have time to dedicate a few minutes?  Well, you'll be surprised to find out that the Earth will keep spinning and life will go on whether you finished all of your work or not.  Taking this break forces you to stop and be present, and what a wonderful and calming feeling that is. For more detailed information on how music affects us and promotes health, read this article.

Below are some of my favorite music picks, give them a try, you might just like them!

With love,
